Why metallurgically bonded

We have developed and delivered a wide number of overboard pipes with weldoverlay cladding for the challenging acidic environment on drain and exhaust lines of scrubbers, EGCS and other wash water drain systems. This type of metallurgically bonded overboard pipe provides good internal corrosion resistance from the Alloy 625 CRA layer, and at the same time high mechanical strength from the carbon steel outside.

Weldoverlay cladded overboard pipes are a robust design and highly durable. Since the internal surface is 100% Alloy 625 cladded and sealed — including the transition regions — there is no chance for direct contact between acidic wash water and the carbon steel pipe surface.

Buildable, weldable, adaptable

Weldoverlay cladded overboard pipes allow any partial surface welding to be performed externally — bracket plate fillet welding on the steel pipe, for example — without affecting the quality of the internal corrosion resistance layer. Diffusor plates can be welded directly onto the internal corrosion resistance layer using the same grade filler material. Where required, the overboard pipes can be joined with fittings such as elbows and reducers to suit the existing valve or pipeline.
