Trusted by Industries
That Drive the World
CRA cladding solutions that enhance performance, extend life and reduce lifetime costs.
Aggressive process streams carried at elevated temperature and pressure.
Ammonia, urea and acid circuits that attack unprotected carbon steel.
Boiler, FGD and cooling-water systems exposed to erosion-corrosion.
Seawater intake, brine and high-chloride reject lines in constant service.
Coastal and marine structures specified for a long, low-maintenance design life.
A protective alloy that becomes
part of the steel
Corrosion resistance alloy (CRA) weldoverlay cladding is a welding process that deposits surfacing material onto a substrate to improve corrosion or wear resistance. Because the overlay is fused rather than mechanically fitted, it forms a true metallurgical bond with the base material — the cladded component then acts as one composite material.
Corrosion resistant alloy
Alloy 625, 825, Monel 400, 316L/317L/904L, duplex or hardfacing grades
Fusion / bond line
Diluted transition zone created by the arc — no adhesive, no interference fit
Carbon or low-alloy steel
ASTM A106, A234, A350, A694, API 5L and other weldable backing materials
Qualified, monitored,
documented
Overlay welding is performed to WPS/PQR qualified in accordance with ASME Section IX. In-process QC covers visual and dimensional checks plus welding monitoring, and NDT includes UT, DPT, PMI and dimensional examination.
Procedure qualification
WPS and PQR qualified to ASME Section IX and the client project specification before a single bead is laid.
Surface preparation
Machining, bevelling and cleaning of the substrate so the arc meets sound, contaminant-free parent metal.
Computerised weld overlay
Horizontal GTAW systems clad line pipe and spool pieces up to 12 metres; vertical pulsed hot-wire GTAW cells clad fittings, flanges, valve bodies and pressure vessels. PLC control holds heat input, oscillation and travel constant across the whole deposit.
Examination
Penetrant testing on every component, remote video-probe inspection of bores up to 12 m, ultrasonic bond integrity checks, magnetic particle inspection, cladding thickness survey and PMI by XRF and spectrometer.
Fabrication & hydrotest
Spools assembled to ASME B31.3 / B31.8 or API 1104, then hydrostatically tested on our in-house station with controlled test water.
Coating, documentation, load-out
External anti-corrosion coating, painting, thermal spray or insulation as required — released with a final document of conformity covering methods, techniques and acceptance criteria.
Alloy families we deposit
Select a family to see the grades we routinely qualify and deposit.
Nickel and nickel-alloy grades
The workhorse overlays for sour service, high chloride and acidic duty — and the grade behind our EGCS overboard pipes.
Stainless steel grades
Austenitic and martensitic overlays for process, utility and restoration work on vessels and nozzles.
Duplex and super duplex
Where strength and chloride stress-corrosion resistance have to arrive together.
Hardfacing overlays
Wear and abrasion duty on sealing faces, ring grooves and valve internals.
Any other weldable alloy is available upon request.
